According to the Committee on Climate Change, 34% of the UK’s greenhouse gas emissions came from our houses and buildings, and almost half of these emissions are a direct result of using fossil fuels for heating.

Our Buildings and Architecture panel will discuss the carbon footprint of our homes, and how we can change our buildings to help the planet.

John Dunne

John Dunne is the Safety, Environment, and Quality Director at Wates Group, one of the largest privately-owned construction, development and property services companies in the UK.

John’s responsibilities include ensuring that all construction is carried out as environmentally consciously as possible, including building methods, material procurement and land management

Brittany Harris

Brittany is a Civil Engineer turned Tech Entrepreneur. After years working in international development, construction and engineering, she pivoted her focus to tackle one of the world's most pollutive industries: construction.

As Co-founder and CEO of Qualis Flow, Brittany is passionate about using data to quantify the value that more sustainable approaches can bring to businesses, and connecting people to drive sustainable change across the built environment.

Saadia Ansari

Saadia is a multi-disciplinarian with a strong technical background in engineering and environmental science. She has worked on a wide range of projects from greenhouse gas reporting and decarbonisation pathways to more unique projects focusing on the impacts of land-use change and building energy performance monitoring and modelling

Jake Chester

Jake is a recent graduate with a keen interest in sustainability. He has joined SSE, one of the largest energy providers in the UK, as they work towards the goal of becoming the nation’s leading net zero energy supplier.
