International travel and transport is a particularly difficult sector for decarbonisation. The technology to facilitate net zero long distance travel is not widely available, and is a long way off of being commercially viable.

Our International Travel and Transport panel will discuss the difficulties of developing and integrating zero emissions air travel, from the technical challenges of electrifying planes to the feasibility of using alternative forms of transport.

Charlie Simpson

Charlie leads on the future mobility and energy transition agenda within EY-Parthenon UK&I, advising corporate clients, investors and government departments on building a greener transport and energy world.

Charlie has been active in building EY’s ecosystem, setting up links between auto energy, technology, public sector and the investment communities, helping drive both organic and merger and acquisition led growth.

Aman Pannu

Aman Pannu is the Global Practice Area Leader for Aerospace & Defence at Frost & Sullivan, a world-leading growth pipeline company. Aman’s role is instrumental to ensuring that the aerospace sector is granted the funding to develop and adapt sustainably.

Sonya Kerr

Sonya is Head of Marketing and Strategic Communications at CATAGEN, responsible for leading the growth of the core business through brand development, lead generation and market expansion as well as building stakeholder relationships for the development of its new Net Zero Technologies.

She has over 20 years’ experience in marketing, strategic communications, and innovation however her roles have always included an element of environmental and social responsibility. She is currently researching behaviour change to impact transport emissions.

Duncan Hopkins

Duncan has over 20 years facilities management experience in the UK and overseas. He has worked in a diverse range of environments including five international airports, education, government and private sectors for companies including PwC, Amey and CBRE.

Marcel Fujike

Marcel Fujike has been driving the development and global implementation of air logistics solutions for 17 years. Marcel is now steering air freight sustainability initiatives to provide innovative and easy shipping options which contribute to the development and widespread use of alternative aviation fuel.
